Jake Driver has a new job with the Timely Corporation. Timely has become a world leader in Porter-Tech and near-space solutions.  Initially hired to help engineer vehicles required to mine the Asteroid Belt, Jake has big shoes to fill. While a threat to the Earth begs for a solution that teleporter tech can answer through leading-edge solutions, progress remains hampered by the very real laws of physics and distance. Family difficulties and personal challenges test Jake and his friends but they persevere.

Readers travel in spacecraft that move between the stars at speeds that only give the captain a seventeen-minute horizon to avoid rogue planetesimals. Of spacewalks required while clinging to the exterior of a still accelerating spacecraft, and an immediate solution is required when the RoadMaker is drowning in an invisible river of high-energy particles that may “peel the RoadMaker like a grape” if an exit isn’t found in a matter of minutes. Sabotage, espionage, political, and religious resistance figure large in successfully pulling off a task that is not only challenging, but dangerous.
